Light ruby with a nose that’s all top notes in florals, fig leaf, spearmint and the cooler shades of red and dark fruits. In the mouth, it's very Burgundian, Chambolle-like, with the most lovely granitic tannins and luscious fruit that have a ghostly and ethereal quality to them. So light, so elegant, so dainty....this is special.
Grenache, (or Garnacha), is one of the most important red grape varieties in the world and is responsible for some of the most expensive and collected wines out there. It's the key variety for making elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape and rich GSM's, but is brilliant as a stand alone variety and makes wines with a medium body, but intense and often spicy flavours of deep red fruits, black cherry, charred plum, leather, blood orange, dried herbals and cinnamon. From crisp and crunchy, to velvety and rich, this versatile grape is awesome!
