An elegant and mineral Nerello Mascalese from the volcanic soils of Mt Etna in Sicily. Ruby red with an aromatic nose of dried florals, cherry, wild berries, aromatic herbs, nutmeg, coffee and iron-like earth. In the mouth it's elegant and velvety with underlying savouriness, fine tannins, bright acidity and good fruit intensity. A lovely Nerello Mascalese.

A rare but much loved red grape variety grown on the volcanic soils of Mount Etna in Sicily. It's kind of like a cross between a Pinot Noir and a Nebbiolo...heavenly...and makes wines that are deliciously light-bodied but intensely flavoured with zingy red fruits, crunchy cherry, spicy cinnamon, dried herbals, zesty acidity, leather and a complex volcanic earthiness that sits underneath it all. A brilliant variety that is growing in popularity by the day!
