About the wine

Tasting notes

Bright purple with a red hue. The aroma is immediately of mulberry juice, cassis and macerated cherries with the faintly herbal characteristic of the Cabernets from a cool vintage. The wine’s flavour is intense and fresh with a core of sweet fruit and a fine-grained tannin finish.

The Grape

Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is a red grape variety used as an important blending component for Bordeaux Blends, but also as an exceptional stand alone expression in the Loire Valley. Cabernet Franc is the father grape to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and with a uniquely savoury dried cayenne/paprika note that distinguishes it from its child grapes. Medium bodied, graced with good levels of acidity and a slightly savoury bias, Cab Franc is a great choice for those who enjoy elegant reds with complexity and pairs perfectly with tomato based dishes and smoked meats.
