Located in the northern area of the Rhône Valley, the DELAS family, a major wine merchant since 1835, operates 30 hectares of vines spread over the excellence of the northern Rhône appellations: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Côte Rotie and Condrieu. This old house has been able to develop over the ages and generations through rare initiatives in the Rhône Valley; thus in 1952, the wines were shipped in barrels to London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Geneva and the United States. In 1977, the vineyard will join forces with the famous Champagne house Deutz in order to continue its export development. Since 1996, Maison Delas has regained all its brilliance and all the soul that contributed to its fame. An extremely motivated team proudly participates in the qualitative renewal of this institution, and pursues with conviction the motto of the house "to place Man and Wine at the center of the Terroir".The strength of this vast vineyard therefore lies today in the parcel approach to the hillsides in order to sublimate the terroirs and the expression of the wines. The cuvées from the “Les Bessards”, “La Landonne”, “Clos Boucher”, “Saint Epine” plots, etc. have thus become references in the Rhône and are often praised by the best critics in the world. The winery was acquired by the Champagne House of Louis Roederer in 1993 and today, the Delas wines are crafted by a panel of experts headed by winemaker Jacques Grange. Together, the team makes wines that have been heralded for their intensity of flavour and excellent value.
