The Montepulciano and Durif were picked at optimal ripeness and by coincidence were harvested on the same day.The fruit was destemmed and crushed to a single stainless-steel open top fermenter for a co-fermentation. Twice-daily “rack and returns” were done to retain delicate varietal expression and to avoid harsh extraction. The must was pressed to neutral French oak barriques for 14 months. The wine was bottled with minimal filtration.

Deep, almost impenetrable ruby colour to a purple rim. Dark berry, liquorice and boudin noir on the nose. A big and weighty red—the dark fruit intensity fills the palate but is balanced by an equally robust tannin structure. Good length and those grainy tannins linger long. Great value and will age well. I'd suggest a good steak served alongside would be a formidable combination
