Piedrasassi cultivates grapes and grain in the Central Coast of California. We primarily cultivate and vinify Syrah, a variety with which winemaker Sashi Moorman has worked for over two decades. Today, the viticultural heritage of the Northern Rhone and the pioneering ethos of the Central Coast equally inform his engagement with Syrah. Bien Nacido Vineyard has long been a highly sought-after site for Syrah in Santa Barbara County.

Charred bacon, crushed peppercorns, tart red-fruit and raw meat aromas are decorated with ample wood spice on the nose of this bottling. The palate's tannins are tense and grippy, ensuring a long life to come, with flavors of black-plum skin, thyme oil and eucalyptus leaf working in harmony.

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
