The fruit for this wine was sourced from Carl Brown’s certified organic vineyard called Alanbrae in Colbinabbin. It is made with 90% whole bunch fruit and fermented with wild yeast in a 4000L concrete vat. Gentle hand and foot plunging was followed by malolactic fermentation and 48 months of maturation in a 2800L used French oak foudre. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it spent another two and a half years in bottle before release.

James Halliday Wine Companion Review - 95 Points Certified organic, 90% whole bunch, aged in 2800L foudres. The whole-bunch percentage is obviously high, but the fruit has taken it up beautifully; there's nothing hard, green or jangly here. This is awash with sweet, juicy, red-berried fruit, the complements coming in the form of roasted nut, smoked wood and game characters. In short, it puts on quite a show. - Campbell Mattinson
Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
