About the wine

Tasting notes

he nose is deep, nuanced, complexed, savoury and very attractive but the palate is where the true magic occurs. The focus and balance of true dark berries, earthy minerality, smooth and luscious textures, refined dusty tannins and pristine dark berry acidity is nothing short of awesome, resulting in a wine of huge generosity, complexity and drinkability.

Expert review

A long, deeply ripened and artfully balanced shiraz with a musky, spicy and peppery bouquet of cassis, blackberries, small red berries and charcuterie meats tightly knit with fine-grained, faintly smoky oak and lifted by a floral perfume. Medium-bodied, it’s long, elegant and silky smooth, opening layers of opulent deep, dark and briary fruit tightly wound around fine, dusty tannins, finishing savoury and faintly mineral with a lingering core of fruit and gamey complexity punctuated by a mouthwatering acidity. Superbly balanced and complete, with latent power and depth.

The Grape

Shiraz or Syrah

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
