The pinnacle wine from Chris Ringland that is an exact expression.Painstakingly hand created with a combination of physical effort, craftsmanship and intuition. Batch vinification takes place in ten small open “cube” fermenters . Each of the ferments are foot stomped and hand plunged to extract colour, flavour and tannins. Fermentation is completed in new French oak hogsheads and barriques, followed by maturation for at least four years before assemblage and bottling.

About the wine

Tasting notes

Appearance: Opaque red-black colour with a scarlet edge.Aroma: Initial impression of creme patisserie vanilla and notes of milk chocolate. The profile develops into ripe red fruits with a floral edge and a hint of aniseed.Palate: The flavours are immediately rich, sweet and very concentrated black fruits ( black plums and blackberry ) set around a structure that is mouth filling, plush and soft, yet with easily identifiable fine tannin astringency. The acidity is moderate and the oak barrel influence is more mineral, carboniferous in nature. A very persistent finish.

The Grape

Shiraz or Syrah

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
