Son of the founder of Pierro (Dr Mike Peterkin) and Shelly Cullen of Cullen wines, Nic Peterkin is one of the rising stars of Australian wine. Luck-Art-Science defines the wines and Nic pushes his expressions to the highest of heights and isn't afraid to experiment. "This (Chardonnay) is a wine that I will spend my whole life trying to learn about, to craft, to perfect. My aim, to make people feel something when they drink it, to make people think, to make people wonder. They say magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect. I hope to create a little magic with this wine." - Nic Peterkin

Purity is the word that I think everytime I try this wine. Purity and tension. Pure flavours of Willyabrup chardonnay, peach, lemon, lime, green apple, a touch of cream and a hint of flint and struck match. While young the wine will open up with time in glass and in bottle the wine will age gracefully for 10 years if cellared correctly.
One of the most planted, versatile and popular white varieties in the world. As a stand alone grape, Chardonnay is not the most interesting, nor complex varietal out there...but in the hands of a great winemaker it can be turned into one of the world's greatest pleasures! From the best bubbles of Champagne, to the lean, unoaked and mineral expressions of Chablis and the opulent, oaked and complex whites of Burgundy, Chardonnay is responsible for making some of the greatest expressions of white wine on the planet.
