The 2021 West Ridge shows a remarkable combination of fruit concentration with lift and elegance. The nose is a bouquet of crushed alpine strawberries, wet stone, sage, bay laurel, cassis, black current, and violets. The aromatics of the 2021 are unusually powerful for this wine. The complexity and terroir are somewhat obscured by the incredible fruit density of this vintage; this wine will take time to emerge.
