Edouard and wife Eleni have Chablis running through their veins. Domaine Vocoret is a well established large estate which when entering Chablis town from the North is impossible to miss. Edouard and Eleni wanted to start their own Domaine and in 2013 purchased 5 hectares from their Father + Grandfather. Eleni has been working for some time for Vincent Dauvissat and he has kindly been mentoring them as they establish their Domaine

The 2019 Chablis Les Butteaux 1er Cru has a more conservative nose than the Village Crus, austere and reserved yet with fine mineralité and terroir expression. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and superb salinity, touches of shucked oyster shells emerging toward a finish that fans out gently. This deserves a couple of years in bottle to really show what it can do (which is a lot).
One of the most planted, versatile and popular white varieties in the world. As a stand alone grape, Chardonnay is not the most interesting, nor complex varietal out there...but in the hands of a great winemaker it can be turned into one of the world's greatest pleasures! From the best bubbles of Champagne, to the lean, unoaked and mineral expressions of Chablis and the opulent, oaked and complex whites of Burgundy, Chardonnay is responsible for making some of the greatest expressions of white wine on the planet.
