Opulence is here in the form of honeysuckle, ripe fig, white peach, and a touch of apricot, wrapped in just the right amount of acidity to ensure the creaminess and roundness are not lost. The hero of this wine is the hidden gem, carrying all on its shoulders a perfectly judged phenolic structure. This not only lifts the wine but will ensure it ages exceptionally well.

Yellow gold in the glass with a luxurious and beautifully aromatic nose of slightly honeyed chamomile and acacia, dandelion and its stem, Meyer lemon, hints of quince, apple pie with nutmeg and cinnamon, grilled stonefruit, creme fraiche, fennel pollen, roasted pine nuts, raw pistachio, dried galangal, sweet brine and a deeper wet stone aroma. In the mouth it’s creamy, seductive and juicy, yet tightly figured and meticulously balanced to a point of weightlessness. It tastes of yellow stonefruit, plum and pear, dried apricot, roasted fennel, chervil, hints of orange, almond, beeswax, jasmine and integrated oak spice that are held within a tight frame of tannins and refreshingly zesty orange-leaning acidity. It’s cool, calm and collected with lovely tension and feathery veins of crushed stone minerality that crescendo over a reaching tail ending with a pear skin tang and crystalline-like clarity. Harmonious, elegant, vibrant and utterly delicious, this is a killer release and will be a home run for many, but, I personally feel it's missing some of that unctuousness and decadence of the 22. Gorgeous nonetheless!
