Domaine Mee Godard is a small producer dedicated to produce state of the art, profound, complex wines with lots of character. The yields for the Moulin a Vent are kept very low in order to increase concentration and capture each of the very different soil types available across Morgon. A high proportion of the bunch is used (50%) and the must undergoes a long maceration to infuse nicely. Fermentation is made in concrete tanks and, once finished, the wine undergoes a second fermentation and maturation in oak barrels for about 10 months for this vintage. The wines are then bottled without filtration.

Rich and meaty, this great Moulin-a-Vent has deep mulberry fruit and a broad, yet tightly wound structure with firm tannins and wonderful acidity. A core of fruit drives long, and generously through to a finely nuanced finish. Gorgeous!

Gamay is a red grape variety that has a home in Beaujolais, just south of Burgundy in France. It's a floral, fruity and gently rustic light bodied red that is very food friendly and quite similar to Pinot Noir. Expect aromas and flavours of pink rose, violets, blossoms, pomegranate, wild berries, fresh earth and tea. The best expressions are usually made from grapes grown in 10 different cru's and are a fantastic and affordable alternative to high end red Burgundy.
