Serraboella is the most famous cru in the Southern Neive. A long hill exposed to West that gently bends towards South getting steeper. On this very side: the steepest and the warmest, our Barbaresco has a unique expression. Power, volume are laced by an elegant texture. The family that owns the Paitin estate lost its patriarch, Secondo Pasquero Elia, as this wine was being readied for release, and he would have been proud of the way this turned out.

The 2018 Barbaresco Serraboella Sorì Paitin is glossy and polished with a super fine and delicate quality of fruit. It just glides over the palate as if it were on skates. That beautiful forward momentum is driven by light cassis, dried cherry, iron skillet, candied orange peel and crushed flowers. Medium-bodied, plenty of crunch of dry tannin and fresh acidity, and a spiced cherry finish of good length. The finish is exceptionally smooth and elegant.

Often referred to as the king of red grapes, Nebbiolo is responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. The regions of Barbaresco and Barolo, in Piedmont, Italy, create the most revered expressions of the variety and have set the benchmarks for the world over. Nebbiolo is quite light in colour, dry and delicate but packs a punch in aroma and flavour with notes of rose, tar, cherry, red berries, blood orange, licorice, leather, terracotta and earthy herbals. These wines have high acidity and high tannins, making them extremely age worthy that deepen in complexity over decades. Simply stunning wines!
