An incredible Sparkling made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown biodynamically on prized vineyards with soils of clay, flint and white limestone rock. Chidaine is widely acknowledged in France as one of the Loire Valley’s great sparkling-wine craftsmen, not least by Benjamin Dagueneau (who enlisted Chidaine’s help when trialling his own sparkling). The 2008 was disgorged in April 2021, following 12 years on lees. Pure class as always.

Bright yellow, with a nose of white florals, citrus, pear and toasty lees. In th mouth it's pure, complex and elegant with an abundance of salty, marine and truffled aromas and flavours. The palate is still firmly structured, with great purity and persistent minerality. Magnificent!

Chenin Blanc is a white grape variety most famous for the beautifully lean and mineral expressions that come out of the Loire Valley in France and the rich and sweet expressions from South Africa. The wines are very aromatic and fruit forward, with flavours of quince, pear, yellow apple, chamomile and honey and can be made in a diverse range of style from sparkling, to lean and mineral, all the way to rich and even fortified. Chenin Blanc is quickly becoming a first choice for lovers of complex and fruity white wines and we think it's only the beginning for this amazing grape.
