Courabyra vineyard sits on a west facing slope on deep weathered granite soils near Tumbarumba, at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Pinot Meunier is grown on a sloping block with East-West row orientation. The vines are cane-pruned and vertically shoot-positioned, with every leaf carefully placed!Pristine grapes were hand harvested in mid-March. Approximately 25% whole-bunches were included in the ferment which was worked mainly with pigeage. After pressing, the wine underwent the malolactic fermentation in a mix of new and older Allier barrels before bottling in July 2021.

The wine combines the freshness, fragrance and brightness of cool-grown Pinot Meunier with a lively, spicy and savoury palate. The nose is delicately perfumed with light red currant and strawberry, soft smoky aromas, peppery spice notes and fresh thyme. Fresh acidity, complex spice and savoury, moreish tannins frame the palate, which opens up with time in the glass to reveal bright red fruit flavours.
