The Block 8 has its usual darker fruit profile but also red cherry fragrance. It has layers of aromas; ginger, earth and game, brown spice. The palate is initially creamy and fresh with a supple and smooth fruit and tannin flow. As is typical with this vineyard, it builds drive through the middle palate and fans out through the fine and dense tannin finish. It will continue to gain complexity and drink beautifully over the next ten years.

Blushing ruby with a nose that’s complex and earthy, but also sweetly floral and oh-so pretty. Pink and peach roses, freshly cut strawberry, raspberry licorice, sumac, tarragon, brown sugar, white tea, beetroot and whispers of game and exotic spice. In the mouth it’s silky, structured and powerful, yet wonderfully fine. It drives with intense flavours that echo the nose, along with dark berries, a touch of cola and slightly bitter plum, charged by seamlessly woven acidity and textured with firm, ultra-fine tannins that dry the palate and have great sustain. Consistent and momentous, it soars through to a long tail that hums strawberries, white tea, rose and toasted spices. Gorgeous!
