Vinification: 34 mths in new & seasoned French Oak hogsheads. Vintage Conditions: In 2019, exceptional winter rainfall gave us a full soil moisture profiles and budburst occurred on par with long term averages with very solid early shoot growth. Mid December through to the early March was extremely dry with virtually no rainfall. The mild days and cool nights in late February and early March aided in the final ripen creating strong varietal characters and crisp natural acids.

Expert review

This is a smooth, well-flavoured wine with just enough of everything that counts. Pure blackcurrant and bay leaf flavours flow through the palate, creamy vanillin oak draped over the top. It's not full on but there's enough richness here to satisfy. The tannin profile, slightly grainy, suggests that it should mature well, too.

The Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon

A red grape variety that is responsible for the most expensive wines on the planet...some fetching over $100, 000 per bottle!!! It is also the worlds most popular style of wine and produces age worthy and concentrated expressions that show notes of potpourri, cassis, black cherry, blackberry, mulberry, raspberry, leafy herbals, green pepper, baking spices, charcoal, graphite and cedar. Most famous for the first growth wines from the Left Bank in Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon is often used as a primary variety for red blends designed to last decades and is a must have style for any serious collector.
