Bordeaux is the largest fine wine region in the entire world and produces some of the most expensive, revered and age-worthy white and red wines available. The region is divided into the Left Bank (such as the Medoc & Graves) and the Right Bank (such as St Emilion & Pomerol), with 38 sub-regions and 57 different appellations. Top varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
