Iggy Wines

Igor, affectionately known as Iggy, is a Slovenian-born winemaker with nearly 23 vintages under his belt. Deep love for wine and vineyards has built gradually over the years. And helping grandfather “Deda” in the vineyard since early childhood has been the foundation for everything that followed.After his formative years and completion of studies at University he has been refining his craftsmanship while working alongside some of the most prominent wine personalities in the world. In addition to Australian domestic stints at Barossa’s Sons of Eden and Powell&Son, he gained further international knowledge and experience at Domaine Jean-Louis Chave in France’s Rhone Valley, at Jonata in California, and Villa Maria in New Zealand. Each person he worked beside and every place he visited played important and enriching role in his journey called life thus far. With horizons widely open it’s no surprise he warmly embraces cultural, culinary and vino diversities from all over the world. He is now managing cellar operations at Wine Wise Consulting during the day and producing wines for Iggy brand after-hours. When not in the cellar, he is fulfilling his passion for growing grapes and taking care of long-neglected vineyard in the picturesque Eden Valley.
