A brilliant Mornington Chardonnay made by winemakers Darrin Gaffy of Principia Wines and Doug Neal of Altera Terra and Paradise IV. This may be the entry level from the label, but make no mistake, it punches way above its price point and computers with the best! "Our best M.P chardonnay released to date. This wine is ready now but it will certainly age gracefully, and it sure packs a punch of flavour."

About the wine

Tasting notes

Light straw gold with strong green tinges running through the wine: waxy meyer lemon, hazelnut, apricot and yellow peach and a salty sea breeze make for a complex bouquet. Very textural and creamy on the palate with powerful punch of yellow stone fruits augmented by subtle cashew like oak and cleansing citrus flavours pulling the palate on a long trajectory.

Medium straw in the glass with silver reflections and a nose of citrus blossoms, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, crisp stonefruit, custard, chervil, sweet turmeric root, ginger, candied almond, coriander seed and gently brûléed spice. In the mouth it’s silky, tightly shaped and full of stonefruit and citrus flavour that’s accompanied by a spine of salinity and tense, zesty acidity. The finest of tannins tease the palate while it glides through a long tail ending with frangipani, toasted oats, cashew and fingerlime. A rock solid Mornington Chardonnay that punches way above its price point! Excellent.
