A new label collab between Wine Animal and Stuart Dundine of Alkimi Wines. Stuart started Alkimi in 2014. Previous to this, he worked in Europe and top wineries in Aust – Henschke, Yarra Yering, Oakridge, and Mac Forbes. Stu’s all about wild yeasts, minimal inputs to bring out the natural characters of the grapes and vintage. We were chasing a "provincial" feel and we’re both really happy with the wine. We were at the winery for the press and put down the juice for fermentation. – Brenden Robnik.

The appearance is a very pale pink with a copper hue. There are voluptuous summer fruit aromas of ripe peach, red apple, and watermelon. Featuring underneath are tones of orange sorbet and white pepper. The palate is light, fresh, and dry. Dried cranberry, fresh strawberry and orange zest feature with watermelon notes encapsulating these flavours. White pepper, fresh bay leaf and macerated peaches lay path towards the finish, which is long, clean, and balanced.

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
