Medium gold with a touch of cyan and a nose that is so beautifully aromatic it stops you in your tracks. Chamomile, lime, charred lemon, persimmon, pineapple, quince and custard apple are followed by galangal, sweet peanut oil, lemon thyme, white pepper, vanilla and hazelnut oak, a hint of bacon fat and salinity. (A bit of popcorn comes out with days of airtime) In the mouth it’s one of the sexiest whites I’ve tried. Slippery, with the texture of silk, intense and deep but so perfectly balanced that it floats. Ripe and vibrant fruit echoes the nose, along with a kiss of oak spice and a hint of butterscotch, while a line of apple acidity drives long, the finest of tight grained tannins embrace and veins of river stone minerality adds incredible complexity to it all. What the heck, this is magnificent!!!!!!! It doesn’t even end…just keeps going.
