Giulia Negri is a star. Trained as a Biologist and now winemaker of arguably the most pure, precise and pristine expressions of Barolo from her family estate. The winemaking is very traditional, and result in deeply mineral wines with purity of red fruit, tightly knit tannins and incredible tension and energy. Succulent in their youth and well capable of long term bottle ageing.

Beguiling and persistent fragrances of sandalwood, mocha and cherry lead to undertones of wet forest flora and alpine herbs on the lively, lithesome palate. Sandy-textured tannins are speckled throughout, coming together in a graceful grip. The fruit is juicy and sapid. The least expensive and most approachable in the range, though not without signature tension.

Often referred to as the king of red grapes, Nebbiolo is responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. The regions of Barbaresco and Barolo, in Piedmont, Italy, create the most revered expressions of the variety and have set the benchmarks for the world over. Nebbiolo is quite light in colour, dry and delicate but packs a punch in aroma and flavour with notes of rose, tar, cherry, red berries, blood orange, licorice, leather, terracotta and earthy herbals. These wines have high acidity and high tannins, making them extremely age worthy that deepen in complexity over decades. Simply stunning wines!
