Coal River Valley

The Coal River region is close to Hobart and is the home to some of Tassie’s most famous wineries. Dry sandy soils, cool temperatures and low levels of rain create the perfect conditions for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and other aromatic varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon does well here too.
