I recently had the pleasure of tasting through the new releases from @prophetsrock (stunning) and was lucky enough to spend some time with their maker, @paulpujol

Paul is a special man. Kind, humble and shining with intellect and wit, he captivates conversation with surreal and incredible stories that chapter his own history and journeys as a winemaker. From Marlborough to the Languedoc, Sancerre, Alsace, Burgundy and Oregon…with some mind-blowing events scattered along the way…Paul has developed his own path and connection with wine that is being nurtured and played out in his own vineyards in Central Otago, NZ.

Knowing Paul’s past helps to truly know Paul’s wines and when you combine an unwavering respect for place, meticulous attention to detail, trust in intuition and deep understandings of the craft of winemaking itself, you are left with the terroir driven fine wines of Prophet’s Rock, some of my favourite wines on Earth.

All wines tasted had the signature Prophet’s Rock purity, precision, energy, balance, minerality and concentration of fruit that spoke of the place it comes from in complex, elegant and utterly delicious expressions. There's no wonder why these wines are in every top restaurant in the country ❤️
