Polperro; Mornington Peninsula's Grand Cru

I have to admit, I've never been a big fan of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir and feel Chardonnay may be more suitable to the region #controversial HOWEVER, the new single vineyard releases from Polperrowines have completely changed my perspective simply because they are brilliant ❤️

Winemaker Sam Coverdale_ is not only a great fella, but he's also a man with great respect for the land, the soils in which his vines are grown and the artform of winemaking. The expression of terroir is at the forefront of his approach and the meticulous use of organics, biodynamics and biological practices enables him to produce wines of purity, personality and elegance, unlike any other in the region. These three are perfect examples of this and have just come on to the market 🙌

2021 POLPERRO LANDAVIDDY LANE PINOT NOIR
A finely detailed, elegant and beautifully floral Pinot Noir with notes of rose, deep red fruits, pomegranate, exotic spice and the beginnings of underbrush. It’s silky, balanced and gently textured with supple tannins that bring pleasure and comfort.

2021 POLPERRO MILL HILL PINOT NOIR
Zesty, aromatic and tightly structured with the complexity and structural definition to promise a very special evolution with time. Orange zest, rose, fig leaf and Earth are intertwined with pristine red fruits and amaro-like herbals. There’s a measured confidence in this site that is clearly seen in the wine.

2021 POLPERRO TALLAND HILL PINOT NOIR
A generous, deep and structured expression with plenty of spice, dark cherry, deep red fruits, fig, cocoa and Earthy complexity. It’s juicy and charged with acidity, gripped by firm tannins and delivers with a power and focus that commands and seduces.
