Books and Wine; the ultimate pairing!

Pairing wine with a specific book genre can take a great read to a whole new level! Here are some wine and book genre pairings that you have to try!

Romance

Wine: Rosé
Why: It’s delicate like a kiss, refreshing, and has that little bit of sweetness that compliments the warmth and passion found in romance novels.

Mystery/Thriller

Wine: Barolo and Barbaresco
Why: Complex, medium-bodied, tannic and tense, these amazing red pair perfectly with the suspense and unexpected twists of mystery and thriller genres.

Science Fiction

Wine: Chenin Blanc
Why: The edgy, intense and star bright nature of Chenin Blanc match the exciting, shiny and often complex worlds found in science fiction.

Fantasy

Wine: Shiraz/Syrah
Why: There’s something so comforting and cuddly about a good smooth Shiraz and it’s like taking a blanket with you while you explore the mystical and adventurous in fantasy novels.

Historical Fiction

Wine: Brunello or Chianti
Why: The deep, complex and sophisticated nature of great Sangiovese pairs well with the depth and complexity of historical fiction stories. Maybe look for something with a bit of age too!

Wine: Burgundian or  great New World Chardonnay
Why: The versatile, crooning and often complex characteristics of Chardonnay match the depth and variety found in non-fiction works.
