A bountiful offering of yellow peach, meal, hazelnut underpinned by citrus notes and a soupçon of funky characters sitting quietly over the top. Much the same occurs on the palate. Ripe stone fruits supported by delicious spicy oak notes that effortlessly underpin gobs of fruit. A joyous expression of flesh on the bones chardonnay, accompanied by a suite of well integrated acid and phenolics, that keeps this wine in fine shape.

Medium gold with a finely layered, yet generous nose of citrus blossom, lime, yellow stonefruit, buttered toast, hazelnut, pie crust, nutmeg, a touch of brine and an ‘after-burn’ of lemon and galangal. In the mouth it’s creamy, wide, intensely flavoured and drives with multidimensional citrus, nectarine, peach and some apricot that are charged with acidity and coloured by spicy oak. Good line and length with a hold of sour lime in the midpalate. A gentle grip of tannin sits at the front of the tongue long after the fruit disappears.
One of the most planted, versatile and popular white varieties in the world. As a stand alone grape, Chardonnay is not the most interesting, nor complex varietal out there...but in the hands of a great winemaker it can be turned into one of the world's greatest pleasures! From the best bubbles of Champagne, to the lean, unoaked and mineral expressions of Chablis and the opulent, oaked and complex whites of Burgundy, Chardonnay is responsible for making some of the greatest expressions of white wine on the planet.
