A perfect, 100 point Shiraz from old dry grown Barossa vineyards, blended with Viognier that complements the strengths and complexities of these individual parcels of fruit, whilst giving the resulting wine a further dimension.Although wonderfully aromatic, RunRig also exhibits a power and latent richness making it more akin to the hugely concentrated wines sourced from the sun drenched hill of Hermitage – the historic home of Syrah and some of the world’s most powerful and longest living wines.

Deep garnet-black with a hint of purple to the color, the 2010 RunRig taunts at first with a slightly closed nose before it engages with subtle kirsch, preserved plum, dried mulberry and Christmas cake notes intermingled with hints of violets, cinnamon stick, mocha and game. Full-bodied, rich and incredibly concentrated, the palate astonishes with incredible poise for such a big style as it perfectly balances the wine’s generous fruit flavors with firm, velvety tannins and seamlessly vibrant, lively acid. It finishes with incredible persistence

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
